Fuel Credit

Fuel Credit is an open-source, fixed-term USDC borrowing facility for FUEL holders.

The target protocol lets borrowers lock FUEL, receive a transparent USDC advance, and repay principal on a fixed schedule without mark-to-market liquidations during the loan term.

MVP preview

Wallet connectivity, quoting, and a browser-only Burner loan simulation are available. The Sway contract models upfront FUEL fee accounting and reusable signed five-minute FUEL price attestations; real deposits, deployment, price-oracle service, and production pool funding remain under development.

How it works

  1. Connect Burner Wallet for the browser demo, or connect Fuel Wallet or Fuelet to preview a real account.
  2. Choose the amount of FUEL to deposit.
  3. Select a six, nine, or twelve-month term.
  4. Review the USDC advance, fee, and maturity date.
  5. Deposit FUEL and receive USDC once the production contract is live.

Longer terms permit a larger advance against the same FUEL collateral. The fixed 10% APY fee is prorated and paid completely in FUEL when the loan opens.

Repayment

Maturity is the final repayment deadline. Partial USDC principal repayments are accepted only before maturity and return collateral pro rata. The upfront FUEL fee is never charged again. There is no grace period or post-maturity repayment window. At maturity, remaining USDC is defaulted and unreleased FUEL collateral is claimed into the managed vault.

See Interest and repayment for details.

Pool administration

Any wallet can top up the contract with FUEL or USDC. Only the current owner can withdraw idle funds, and locked borrower collateral is never withdrawable. Ownership can be transferred to a different nonzero Fuel address; former owners immediately lose administrative authority. The current owner can replace the price-oracle signer with a different nonzero address; previously issued signatures stop verifying after rotation.

Loan finalization is permissionless. At or after maturity, any wallet or automation bot can finalize an active unpaid loan, but normal loans before maturity, repaid loans, already-finalized loans, and nonexistent loan IDs are rejected.

Managed credit vault

Fuel Labs manages the ecosystem credit vault, including FUEL strategies on Reactor and O2 and support for ecosystem collateral such as Moor. Repayment obligations are fully backed by the Fuel Ecosystem Fund and Fuel Labs FUEL holdings. Read Managed credit vault for pool, strategy, backing, and risk details.
